What To Expect

When you choose Ability Employment Services, expect a collaborative and personalized journey towards meaningful employment. Our process involves understanding unique strengths and aspirations, crafting a tailored plan, offering skill-building opportunities, and connecting you with employers who value your potential. 

Schedule Intake

An Employment Consultant will contact you to schedule your intake and orientation. 

Orientation will take place in a one-on-one setting. This is where you learn about Ability Employment Services and create an individualized plan towards employment. You’ll also learn about the services we provide and how they can benefit you. Your Employment Consultant will complete intake, give you a tour of the facility, and begin setting up future appointments with you.

Service Plan

You will begin to meet one-on-one with your Employment Consultant. This is where we mutually agree on your goals and how to best meet those goals. We want to be sure that we are targeting employment that matches not only your skills and abilities, but your preference as well.

This will include:

  • How often we will meet
  • What types of employers we will target first
  • If we will do any skills training or progression
  • Resume development or modification
  • Interview Preparation

Job Development

Your Employment Consultant will begin scheduling you for job development. They will also job develop on your behalf and notify you of any job listings. You will meet regularly to complete applications, prepare for interviews, and simply check in.

Employment Consultants will help you get the information you need to make a decision about:

  • The type of job you want
  • Your barriers to employment
  • What resources are available to help overcome those barriers
  • The steps needed to reach your goals
